The console

Every connection you use, in tabs, with the record kept.

BaudHoundTerm is a terminal and session manager for Windows 11. Your connections are shortcuts in folders. Each opens in a tab: SSH, telnet, serial, local shells, VNC desktops and RTSP cameras. One executable, no runtime to install.

Why it hosts its own terminal

It needs the stream, so it owns it.

Logging a transcript, colouring matching lines, waiting for a password prompt and answering it, searching the scrollback: all of it needs the output stream. Windows Terminal does not expose that stream, so BaudHoundTerm hosts the terminal itself, rendered by xterm.js.

Built in

Sessions in a folder tree, filterable by name, host or tag.
A credential vault encrypted with DPAPI under your Windows account. Secrets never enter the sessions file.
Session logging, auto-login scripts that pull the password from the vault, and auto-reconnect.
SFTP and SCP transfer, XMODEM and YMODEM on serial, and a TFTP server.
KeePassXC lookups and SSH agent logins through Pageant or the Windows OpenSSH agent.
Sync between PCs through a private git repository. Secrets stay on each PC.

The AI agent

An agent that works in one tab for you, and shows each step.

Attach it to a tab and give it a goal. On a terminal it types commands and reads the output. On a VNC tab it sees screenshots, and each click is checked against what it meant to click before it happens. It talks to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint: vLLM, llama.cpp, Ollama, OpenRouter or OpenAI.

Kept on a short leash

By default it asks before risky commands, with No as the default answer.
It never runs on a local shell, which runs as you.
Every step is logged.
Everything it reads goes to the model provider. For sensitive systems, use a local model or leave it off.
