Safety
Not for anything a life depends on.
This applies to everything we make. HopWarden watches networks and raises alerts. The Agent Machine Interface can watch and drive industrial equipment. Both are instruments for information, and neither may be relied on where a failure could injure someone or cause serious loss.
What our products are not.
No MAH7 product is a safety instrumented system. None carries a safety certification, and none holds a rating under any functional-safety standard.
They must not serve as a protective function, an interlock, an alarm of record or an emergency stop. They must never be the only thing watching a process that can hurt someone when it goes wrong, and an alert from one of them must never be the mechanism by which harm is prevented.
This holds regardless of how reliable a deployment has proven to be, on our bench or on yours. Reliability measured over months is evidence about the past, not a safety case.
Explicitly out of scope
What a safety function actually requires.
Where a process needs a safety function, that function belongs in certified equipment which is independent of anything we supply, continues to work when our equipment is switched off or disconnected, and fails to a safe state on its own without waiting to be told.
Our products may sit alongside such a system and tell you things about it. They may not be part of it, and they may not be what stands in for it while it is procured.
Where the line falls in practice
Reasonable. Watching a process and telling an engineer what it is doing. Recording quality and availability. Reading a screen that would otherwise need somebody standing in front of it. Noticing that something has stopped and raising it with a person.
Not reasonable. Anything where the answer to "what happens if this misses it, or is late, or is wrong" is that a person could be hurt, or that plant is damaged, or that a serious loss follows. That case needs equipment built and certified for it.

Tell us what the process does and what happens when it goes wrong. If the honest answer is that you need a safety system, we will say so and we will not sell you this instead.
