The Windows sensor runs on any machine that stays on at the site: a back-office PC, the till, a spare laptop. It watches the same destinations as the hardware unit and reports the same way. No account needed to run it.

Windows will warn you. The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows “unknown publisher” and you have to click through “More info” to run it. That is a statement about a certificate we have not bought yet, not about the file. Check the hash above and the VirusTotal report. Signing is planned once the code settles.
Updates verify themselves. The app checks for new versions but never installs one on its own. Each update manifest carries the installer’s SHA-256 and a detached signature made with a key held offline, and the app verifies that signature before it trusts the hash, and the hash before it trusts the bytes. Someone who stole our TLS certificate or took over the download server still could not hand you a modified installer.
